I didn't think I had an opinion, but yesterday I got Edd Kimber's new book and it's bigger than his others and it's bothering me more than I thought it would.

Noted, I have fed back to the publisher!

That didn’t really look like procrastination! All things that needed doing. I’d be useless at working from home…

Looking forward to the new book, same size please, I’m OCD, and it would bother me!

Thank you so much for mentioning my (very short) piece. And I honestly can't wait for your next book. It sounds like exactly what I - and we all - need.

Ah thank you so much! I couldn't have put the current madness any better. Thank you for sharing the poem xx

Love the idea of your flower plot at nursery. However it might be worth checking before you plant crocosmia. Some varieties are semi-invasive and shouldn’t be planted next to open ground or fields as they are so thuggish and, if they spread, they can smother native wild flowers.

Good news on the book 👍

This is a very good point! I will check on varieties (and sedum might be nicer anyway - v fun shape almost year round for the children to look at!)

Good luck with that deadline! Personally I love a bit of deadline pressure to get things going.

Definitely the same size 😜 You have accomplished more than most people do in a month... Well done you 💓💓

Ah thank you very much! Sometimes freelance life feels like a month's worth of work in a week, then tumbleweed for the rest! xx

Hooray!! Congratulations!! I was thinking to myself: sounds like Rumi is giving herself a hard time about a lovely weekend of pottering! Until I got to the bit about the deadline!! GOOD LUCK!! You can do it!! Can’t wait for this! Xxx

Ah thank you so much! Trying to corral the brain towards a deadline is like running round a field with a butterfly net! xx

I can't WAIT! I Have finally started my "Roasting Tin" collection, having found The Sweet Roasting Tin and The Roasting Tin around the world in a charity shop, and I can't wait to add more. Thrilled that there shall soon be another to collect, too! Good luck with the final slog, and congratulations! x

Same size please, mainly because it’s just a really good size for a cookbook! I’m loving the garden planning, particularly the plan with the pink circles and the plant names - would love to know how you created such a thing of beauty!

Rukmini Iyer's avatar

Noted, I have sent the poll and comments on size to the publisher! So on the garden planning, I looked for plants that would do well in decent amounts of sun and because for children, wanted things that were non-toxic and largely nice to smell or look at or feel (lambs ear and rosemary are to dot in between the other things!) Roses at the back because beautiful despite thorns. Mapped the screengrabs of different plant varieties on the Freeform app until was happy with the colour combinations, then used Canva to populate the rectangular 'bed' with circles representing roughly the spread of each plant (not super accurate scale wise but a rough indication.) Was a fun activity! Have a look at @horticulturalish and her latest post for another lovely planting scheme made on Freeform!

Wonderful news, congratulations and a good reason to procrastinate if that was what it was. To me it seemed like filling the heart with creativity to enable you to finish your book.

Thank you so much! That is a lovely way to think about it!
